On the heels of releasing their new double album, Let It Wander, Circles Around The Sun was forced to cancel their upcoming tour across the East Coast. The five-date tour was scheduled to take the psychedelic Grateful Dead-inspired act across the Northeast from August 22nd to 26th, starting tonight in Asbury Park, New Jersey at the Wonder Bar. The tour was also set to include performances at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl (8/23); Ardmore, Pennsylvania’s Ardmore Music Hall (8/24); Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground (8/25); and Pine Plains, New York’s Huichicha Music Festival (8/26). As of now, Circles Around The Sun’s west coast dates—Terrapin Crossroads on 9/27 and Old Princeton Landing on 9/28-29—are still on the calendar.

According to the band’s official announcement, the east coast dates were cancelled due to an unspecified “urgent health matter.” Read the full statement, which was posted yesterday, below via the band’s Facebook:

Due to an urgent health matter, we unfortunately have to cancel our upcoming August 22-26 tour dates. We are working on rescheduling these for early next year and will have more information soon. We’re so sorry to all of you who had planned to come to these shows and will let you know as soon as possible about ticket refunds or holding onto your tickets for the rescheduled shows. Thanks to everyone in advance for understanding. – CATS –
