Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has detailed the lineup for its multi-weekend 2022 event. Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Ye (formerly Kanye West), Swedish House Mafia, and many more will take the stage at Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA on April 15th–17th and again the following weekend on April 22nd–24th.
Friday performances (4/15, 4/22) will see Harry Styles joined by the likes of Lil Baby, Daniel Caesar, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Sean, Grupo Firme, Louis the Child, Baby Keem, Still Woozy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Snoh Aalegra, City Girls, Madeon, NIKI, Lane 8, Pink Sweat$, Omar Apollo, Black Coffee, IDLES, MIKA, slowthai, BADBADNOTGOOD, TOKiMONSTA, The Chats, and many more.
In addition to Billie Eilish, Saturday (4/16, 4/23) will include Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Stromae, Giveon, Anitta, BROCKHAMPTON, Rich Brian, girl in red, Wallows, Isaiah Rashad, Caribou, Cuco, Conan Gray, Koffee, Tchami, Dixon, Turnstile, 100 gecs, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Arlo Parks, Japanese Breakfast, Richie Hawtin, black midi, VNSSA, and dozens of others.
Finally, joining Ye on two consecutive Sundays (4/17, 4/24) in the desert will be an eclectic lineup including Doja Cat, Joji, Jamie xx, Run the Jewels, Karol G, Maggie Rogers, Ari Lennox, Banda MS, Fatboy Slim, Måneskin, J.I.D, SLANDER, Solomun, Jessie Reyez, Denzel Curry, FINNEAS, Vince Staples, Dave, Fred again.., Chicano Batman, Orville Peck, beabadoobee, Bedouin, Yola, among others.
The 2022 event will mark Coachella’s return to its longtime home in Indio, CA after two pandemic-induced years off. On March 9th, 2020, industry sources began to indicate that Coachella would postpone its highly anticipated 2020 event. The official postponement came just days later, which pushed the event to fall 2020. As the fall dates inched closer it became clear that 2020 would not be the year, and thus, organizers Goldenvoice and AEG Presents moved Coachella to its usual April date range in 2021.
After the public health landscape refused to cooperate once more, event organizers scrapped Coachella, yet again, for the fourth time in 12 months. Instead of attempting a pivot to another fall event, Goldenvoice and AEG Presents opted for another year delay in the hopes of completely weathering the COVID-19 storm, bringing us to April 2022. While COVID is still very much a part of our lives, event organizers have instituted extensive health and safety rules, including negative test or vaccine requirements, in order to minimize the risks involved with such large gatherings.
