Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Music Festival organizers, Goldenvoice, have confirmed earlier reports that the 2020 installments of both events have been canceled. Coachella and Stagecoach will now take place in April 2021.

Initially set for April 2020, Goldenvoice rescheduled both festivals to October after COVID-19 made its way to the United States back in March, making them some of the first large-scale festivals impacted by the pandemic. Weekend one of Coachella was set to take place on October 9th-11th, with weekend two on October 16th-18th, and Stagecoach on October 23rd-25th. Now, as the pandemic continues to plague communities across the country, Goldenvoice had no other option but to scrap the 2020 festivals altogether.

“This is not the future that any of us hoped to confront, but our main focus remains the well-being of our fans, staff, artists, desert partners and everyone involved in the festival,” the company said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing our new lineups and more information. We can’t wait to be together in the desert again when it is safe.”
