On the heels of the band’s new album Hybrid Volume 1: Such As A Mule, Consider the Source has announced a new crop of hybrid acoustic/electric tour dates. These shows will see the Middle Eastern sci-fi trio take its extensive collection of acoustic instruments on the road for the first time.
The run of seated, intimate performances begins in Roanoke, VA at 5 Points Music Sanctuary on March 24th. The venue is a familiar one for CtS, as the band recorded a hybrid livestream at the venue to coincide with the album’s release in December 2021.
Consider the Source’s listening room performances continue in Asheville, NC (3/25) and Winchester, VA (3/26) before nearly a three-week reprieve. Things pick back up in Washington, D.C. (4/14) ahead of stops in Philadelphia, PA (4/15); Boston, MA (4/16); Battleboro, VT (4/22); Fairfield, CT (4/23); Albany, NY (4/29); and finally New York, NY (4/30). Each show will see a full album performance of Such As A Mule plus more.

Along with the tour announcement, Consider the Source has shared a new video for “Rock, Flag & Eagle”. Taken from Such As A Mule, the track furthers the group’s career-long exploration of Eastern European, Turkish, and Indian music, with a new interest in Central Asian music. Combined with myriad acoustic instruments from around the globe including the Dombra, Ukulele Bass, and Darbuka, “Rock, Flag & Eagle” and Such As A Mule as a whole present something new yet familiar from CtS.
