Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles have released a new single, “Rise”, with proceeds set to benefit civil rights advocacy organization Color of Change. The new track was released via Culture Collective on Friday and looks to bring folks together with messages of rising up in peace.

Throughout the funky track’s 4:34 runtime, Henry utilizes an inspiring call-to-action strategy in his lyrics, belting out, “We’re all trying to find the light to make it a better place/We got to show them what it means to live in peace and harmony/Where I’m a part of you my brother/You’re a part of me.”

“I wrote this song to help inspire people all over the world to come together and Rise to make it a better world. There is no time more than right now that this is needed,” Henry added in a statement via press release. “My hope is that this song lifts the spirits of everyone impacted by social injustice, the pandemic and all other challenges we face in the world today.”
