Cory Henry recently teamed up with drummer TaRon Lockett for a three-song, holiday-inspired performance for the latest episode of NPR Music‘s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert video series.

The new live video shared via NPR Music on Monday treats viewers to the two performing a trio of songs that appeared on Henry’s recent holiday album, Christmas With You, which arrived back on December 11th via Culture Collective.

The cozy duet performance opens with Henry and Lockett grooving their way through an instrumental, jazz-inspired cover of “Little Drummer Boy” followed by one of Henry’s new holiday originals in “Misty Christmas”. Following a brief break from the music, Henry addresses the viewers by saying, “May these songs fill you and your family with joy and happiness as we bring in what will be a far better year than the last. Live in love, live in peace, grow in freedom,” before closing the set with “Christmas With You” featuring the shining notes from Henry’s organ.

Even without the chance to perform publicly or tour since mid-March, Henry still made the most of his 2020 with his recent holiday album, which was also preceded by a new studio project in the form of a self-produced solo album, Something to Say, which arrived back in late October.
