Last Friday, funk guitarist Cory Wong officially released his third studio album, Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul. With a goal to motivate through his album, Cory explained, “The guiding light is to impart a feeling of joy. I want people to experience instrumental music in a different way. This is hype. It’s more than just guitar.”
Wong has now released a new music video for “Lunchtime”, the third track off of his new LP. “Lunchtime” sees Wong joined by bassist Sonny Thompson, keyboardists Ricky Peterson and Cody Fry, drummer Petar Janjic, along with a horn section comprised of trombonist Michael Nelson, saxophonist Kenni Holmen, and trumpeter Steve Strand. The bubbly funk-driven tune sees Wong throwing down some groovy rhythmic guitar licks backed by Thompson’s ferocious bass skills.
