On Sunday, Courtney Barnett offered a preview of her upcoming From Where I’m Standing webcast with a live video of “Sunday Roast”. The pre-recorded stream will air on December 17th in multiple timezones around the world.

Premiering next Thursday, the fan-less concert will see the indie-alternative singer-songwriter perform from the ornate Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, Australia. The performance will mark Barnett’s first live concert since her sold-out fundraising shows at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne for wildfire relief back in January.

From Where I’m Standing also comes as Barnett’s first opportunity to introduce fans to Lucy Waldron, the now-four-piece outfit’s new cellist. In this take on the Tell Me How You Really Feel track, the song’s easy opening allows Waldron’s sound to make a noticeable impact. As things escalate and the electricity of the song characteristically ramps up, however, the stringed instrument gets drowned out a bit by Barnett’s guitar. At any rate, Waldron’s addition brings a new element of depth and dimension to the group’s sound.
