Five-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard is having a career week. After closing out the “seeding games” of the league’s regular season NBA Restart with the highest scoring average in the Orlando “bubble” and propelling his Portland Trail Blazers into the final spot in the West Coast playoffs, Lillard, who moonlights as a rapper under the moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A., released a new surprise EP.

The four-track EP from Damian Lillard (Dame D.O.L.L.A.), Live From The Bubble, features two tracks, “I’m Him” and “The Know”, recorded in his hotel room at the Disney compound where the league is playing out the remainder of the 2019-2020 season. While players from around the league spent their initial required quarantine period in the bubble fishing, shotgunning beers, and playing video games, Dame D.O.L.L.A. was hard at work recording new tracks in his room.

As Damian Lillard explained to the Associated Press about the recording process in the NBA bubble’s close quarters, “I saw people saying that there would be complaints of him recording music, but I don’t have any speakers. Everything is in the headphone speakers. I’m rapping out loud, but not screaming to the top of my lungs. Nobody is going to hear me rapping.”
