Like much of the U.S., Portland, OR has been hit with a rare winter blizzard that has forced most of the city to shut down, resulting in an uncomfortable experience for the Portland Trail Blazers, who were stuck on a plane for seven hours before ultimately canceling their trip to play against the Sacramento Kings. NBA star Damian Lillard decided to keep his team’s spirits high by using his time on the tarmac to write a new rap about the experience and film a video on the plane with his teammates.

Lillard has released several albums under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A. (which seems like a missed opportunity to go by Lil’ Lard, but I digress). The 32-year-old Oakland native has collaborated with artists including Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne, making him one of the most successful athlete-musicians ever. He also released a track paying tribute to Kobe Bryant that was featured in the NBA 2K21 soundtrack.

Watch Damian Lillard perform his blizzard rap while stuck on a plane for seven hours with the Portland Trail Blazers below.
