D’Angeilco Guitars has announced the release of an American Beauty-inspired special edition “Premier Grateful Dead SS” model guitar in honor of the 50th anniversary of the seminal Grateful Dead album.

As D’Angelico explains of the new model, made in partnership with Warner Music Artist Services, “The Premier Grateful Dead SS features custom headstock and finish artwork inspired by the original album art. Its warm and woody tone, achieved in part by a satin walnut finish paired with Duncan Designed humbuckers, helps evoke the sounds of this classic record. A must-have for any Deadhead’s collection.” For a full list of specs or to find a retailer near you where you can purchase your D’Angelico Premier Grateful Dead SS inspired by American Beauty, hear here. This is far from the only new product release from the Grateful Dead camp in honor of the album’s anniversary. Last month, RHINO released American Beauty: The Angel’s Share. Similar to Workingman’s Dead: The Angel’s Share, which arrived earlier this year, the new 56-track album welcomes fans into the recording studio with a fly-on-the-wall perspective on the recording sessions for songs that ended up on American Beauty. The collection features “never-before-heard studio recordings and between-song antics compiled from dozens of recently discovered 16-track reels, including multiple outtakes for several album tracks along with demos for every song on the album (except ‘Box Of Rain’) plus one for ‘To Lay Me Down,’ which was later included on Jerry Garcia’s first solo album, GARCIA.”
