Horizons will mark the second consecutive Daniel Donato album of all-original music, following 2023’s Reflector. All the songs on the 15-track collection were played live and road-tested before going into the studio. The band, led by the 30-year-old former child guitar prodigy Donato, once again teamed up with Reflector co-producer Vance Powell (Trey Anastasio, Chris Stapleton, The White Stripes) for the new album.

“I wanted the lyrics to be easy to understand, not abstract,” Donato said of the album. “There are many layers to the meanings and you think about it, but it’s not rocket science to understand them. Trying to maintain a human sound and faith in what humans can do really inform the actual sonics and production of the record, too.”
Ahead of the release, Donato shared a studio recording of longtime live staple “Broadside Ballad”. Stream it below and pre-order Horizons here.
