[UPDATE 1/10/22]: Dark Star Orchestra has announced new dates for its previously-postponed 2021 New Year’s run in New York. Originally scheduled for December 29th–January 1st, Dark Star Orchestra announced the postponement of the shows on December 28th after several members of the band’s touring party tested positive for COVID-19.

DSO will now begin the four-night run at The Paramount in Huntington on March 30th and 31st. The band will then head to Albany’s Palace Theatre for the remaining two shows on April 1st and 2nd.

DSO’s weekend announcement also included refund information. Those unable to attend the new dates at The Paramount will have a 30-day refund window. Ticketholders should contact their point of purchase for all refunds. Those unable to attend the newly rescheduled dates at Palace Theatre will have until January 27th to request a refund from their point of purchase.

[12/28/21]: Dark Star Orchestra has announced the postponement of its four-night New Year’s run in New York on December 29th–January 1st. This decision comes after members of the band’s touring party tested positive for COVID-19.

“Dark Star Orchestra has made the difficult decision to postpone our scheduled New Year’s performances in New York this week (Huntington + Albany),” the group wrote in a statement to its social media pages. “A few members of our touring party have tested positive and the health and safety of our entire community is of utmost importance to us.”

The four-night run of shows was scheduled to kick off on the 29th for two consecutive nights at The Paramount in Huntington, followed by another couple of shows at Palace Theatre in Albany on the 31st and January 1st. DSO has not given details on rescheduled dates or potential refunds at this time.

“Our team is working hard to reschedule these shows, so stay tuned for more announcements. Stay safe and healthy out there, and Happy New Year! May the four winds blow you safely home.”

Despite these postponements, the remainder of Dark Star’s 2022 winter tour, including Jam In The Sand in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, will still go on as scheduled at this time. Head to the band’s website for additional tour dates and the latest information.

This news comes as the latest in a seemingly never-ending cascade of concert cancellations.
