Dark Star Orchestra is set to take the stage tonight to kick off their 3-night Halloween run at the Capitol Theatre on Thursday evening. For fans who cannot make it to the Port Chester, NY venue for the Halloween weekend run of shows, a free webcast will be available for all three performances via The Relix Channel.

For their first time ever being live-streamed on The Relix Channel, DSO will re-create classic Grateful Dead performance from the venue’s legendary history.

Originally, Phil Lesh & Friends were scheduled for their traditional “Phil-O-Ween” run at the Cap, but the former Grateful Dead bassist had to postpone the shows as he continues to recover from back surgery he had in August. Lesh delivered the news himself in a video posted by The Capitol Theatre earlier this month.

As Phil explains, “I want you all to know I’m very disappointed I’m not going to be able to make these shows. I’m feeling really good, but the doctors recommended I take more time to recover from the surgery I recently had. The Dark Star Orchestra is going to be filling in for us and they’re going to be doing classic Grateful Dead shows from the Cap Theatre. … Happy Halloween to you all, and I’ll see you soon.”

In their announcement on the change of plans, The Capitol Theatre explained that they are working with Phil to reschedule the shows for when he is cleared to play. Tickets purchased for the three postponed shows will be honored sequentially for the corresponding new dates once confirmed. No ticket exchanges will be required, so hang on to your tickets!

Tickets for the replacement Dark Star Orchestra shows at The Capitol Theatre on October 31st, November 1st, and November 2nd are still available. To sign up for reminders or to sign in for the live stream, head to the Relix Channel website.
