Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin continued their rollout of guest-filled Hanukkah Sessions on Tuesday with Inara George sitting in on “The Things We Do For Love”. The 10cc cover also featured assistance from Tenacious D‘s Jack Black and Kyle Gass on backing vocals.

George and Kurstin’s history stretches back to the early 2000s when the singer-songwriter and producer worked on her debut solo album, 2005’s All Rise. They would later form the pop duo The Bird and the Bee, with George as the Bird and Kurstin as the Bee. In 2020 they released the holiday album Put Up The Lights, which featured Grohl on “The Little Drummer Boy”. That same year, Grohl and Kurstin launched the Hanukkah Sessions, delivering quarantine covers of famous Jewish musicians.

As the video’s caption reads, “Once referred to as the ‘biggest Jewish band to come out of Britain,’ 10cc’s MOTs Godley, Crème and Gouldman recorded a ton of hits — here’s one of the many: ‘The Things We Do For Love’ as sung by Inara George!”

For 2022, the Foo Fighters frontman and his longtime producer recorded their eight covers live at Largo in Los Angeles. The December 5th concert at the 250-cap club was a benefit for the Anti-Defamation League, organized in response to rising antisemitism. Among the myriad special guests was director Judd Apatow, whose cover of Blood, Sweat & Tears‘ “Spinning Wheel” arrived on the first night of Hanukkah.
