Highly influential English post-punk band New Order will return to North America for it’s first solo shows since 2005. The seven-date tour will take the band across the country, kicking off October 5th in San Francisco, stopping in Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, New York, and Chicago, before concluding in Toronto on October 23rd. The group recently performed to sold out crowds on a UK tour, and played a very highly regarded set at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival in March.

New Order was formed out of the aftermath of Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis’ suicide. Remaining Joy Division members Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, and Stephen Morris brought in keyboardist Gillian Gilbert to form a new band. Originally following the successful footsteps of Joy Division, a trip to New York in the early 1980′s introduced the group to the burgeoning American dance scene, greatly influencing their future direction. This style has influenced artists as diverse as The Killers, Moby, and the Pet Shop Boys.
