David Byrne is taking fans on guided musical journeys in his new radio show, Here Comes Everybody. The first episode of the monthly internet radio program premiered Saturday, August 1st via the Sonos Sound System Archive.

The former Talking Heads frontman has used quarantine to launch a number of new efforts, including a new pandemic-focused series on his good news online magazine Reasons To Be Cheerful. It was also announced last month that HBO has acquired the distribution rights to the Spike Lee-directed film adaptation of Byrne’s wildly successful Broadway musical American Utopia, and will premiere it later this year.

Here Comes Everybody will find Byrne uploading a new curated playlist the first of every month and taking listeners through some of his favorite tracks. The animated musician said that, while he will try to not repeat songs “sometimes one can’t help going back to something one loves.”

“The playlists for this radio show are very often thematic- movie scores, current releases, South Indian surprises, Turkish pop,” Byrne said. “You may not like them all, but then come back next month and there it will be…the music you have been waiting for your whole life.”
