In the Grateful Dead universe, the “Days Between” traditionally refers to the period between the anniversaries of guitarist/vocalist Jerry Garcia’s birth on August 1st, 1942 and death on August 9th, 1995. Black Oak Ranch was a familiar site for Garcia and Deadheads alike, with Jerry taking his Electric on the Eel concerts there in 1992 and renaming it Electric off the Eel. The northern California campground has long served as home to Wavy Gravy and The Hog Farm commune, the longest-running commune in the United States. Black Oak Ranch continues to hold a number of festivals to this day, including the Hog Farm Hideaway.
