Daze Between New Orleans has announced its return to the Big Easy in 2023 for two jam-packed festival days headlined by Goose.

The second annual event, named for the “Daze Between” the two weekends of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival when the Fair Grounds go quiet but the city stays alive with festive energy, will take place at New Orleans, LA’s Faubourg Brewery on Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 3rd. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit New Orleans non-profit organizations via Rex Foundation. Find ticketing information via the festival website.

In addition to two sets each night by Goose, Daze Between New Orleans 2023—presented by Live For Live Music, GMP Live, Purple Hat Productions, Dayglo Presents, and Rose Tours—will feature performances by an eclectic lineup of artists from the Big Easy and beyond, with styles spanning jazz, funk, jam, folk, rock, and more. Also included on the festival lineup are genre-blending, Grammy-nominated New Orleans outfit Tank and the Bangas, brother- and sister-led soul-pop ensemble Lawrence, Chicago-based keyboardist and singer-songwriter Neal Francis, and The Revivalists’ co-founder David Shaw and his solo project. Other artists set to appear at Daze Between New Orleans 2023 include legendary The Meters bassist George Porter Jr. and his Runnin’ Pardners, fast-rising New Haven, CT jam quartet Eggy, soulful young NYC group Melt, and a mix of fan-favorite local acts like Honey Island Swamp Band, J & The Causeways, and The Quickening.

“Daze Between New Orleans is starting to become an annual tradition,” says Live for Live Music founder Kunj Shah. “It’s a remarkable event anchored by Jazz Fest, colored with incredible music and delicious food, in a beautiful venue. New Orleans is ingrained in the fabric of everything we do at Live For Live Music, and to be able to put on an event that gives back to this city that has given the world so much culture is an honor.”

Faubourg Brewery, founded as Dixie Brewing in 1907, is the oldest operating brewery in New Orleans. Gayle Benson, owner of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, became majority owner of Faubourg in 2017 and subsequently invested in the brewery’s new state-of-the-art brewing facility, scenic brew park, and extensive taproom in New Orleans East with the goal of making the city as notable for its craft beer scene as it is for its music, culture, and food. Daze Between New Orleans attendees are invited to enjoy all the amenities the facility has to offer, from a top-notch beer selection to fantastic traditional Louisiana cuisine.

A portion of all proceeds from Daze Between New Orleans will benefit New Orleans-based nonprofit organizations via Rex Foundation, the Grateful Dead-founded non-profit organization that supports grassroots causes pertaining to the arts, sciences, education, environment, indigenous peoples, and social justice. Funds will be raised through ticket sales and on-site initiatives including an auction featuring coveted items and experiences from artists on the lineup, NOLA- and Grateful Dead-themed artwork, memorabilia, and more. Last year, the two-night event’s charitable efforts raised more than $20,000, which was distributed by the Rex Foundation to vetted New Orleans organizations supporting education and the arts.

“Since I started coming to Jazz Fest in 1999, the ‘Daze Between’ Jazz Fest weekends have always been some of my favorite days to be in New Orleans,” says Paul Levine of Purple Hat Productions. “Together with my partners L4LM and GMP Live we have been throwing special late-night shows on these days for many years. It’s our way of giving back to the city and culture that has inspired us all in our lives and careers. Working with Rex Foundation to help raise funds for multiple New Orleans charities is the culmination of these efforts and really the cherry on top.”

For the first time, Daze Between New Orleans 2023 will also partner with Relix Magazine to present daily conversations and panel discussions with the festival’s performers, local artists, and other influential figures in the music world. In addition to a curated Artist Village showcasing a variety of local artisans and vendors, the festival will include live painting exhibitions and a career-spanning gallery by renowned NOLA painter Frenchy, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Rex Foundation. “We are so excited to return for another year of Daze Between New Orleans,” adds Gideon Plotnicki of GMP Live. “This event holds a truly special place in our hearts, and we cannot wait to return for another year of excellent music, awesome craft beer, and delicious local food at the beautiful Faubourg Brewery campus.”

Festival headliner Goose will arrive at Daze Between New Orleans in the midst of a historic hot streak. In addition to notching recent late-night TV performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Connecticut-based quintet embarked on a sold-out, co-headlining tour with Trey Anastasio Band in the fall of 2022. Last week, nearly every show on the band’s 2023 spring tour sold out the day tickets went on sale, making Daze Between New Orleans one of fans’ only remaining chances to catch Goose live in the first half of 2023.

Single-day and two-day passes for Daze Between New Orleans 2023, as well as a variety of VIP options, will be available via a 24-hour Live For Live Music pre-sale (code: L4LM) beginning on Thursday, December 15th at 12:00 p.m. CT / 1:00 p.m. ET exclusively via the festival website. Remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 16th at 12:00 p.m. CT / 1:00 p.m. ET. For complete ticketing details, head here.
