Dead & Company has announced the 2022 return of the band’s destination event in Mexico, Playing In The Sand. The four-night run of concerts will take place January 13th–16th at the Moon Palace Cancún resort.

Dead & Co’s wintertime retreat south of the border served as the band’s first and last shows of 2020. Following the January run of shows in Mexico, the band was forced to cancel its summer tour several months later when COVID-19 shut down the live music industry. While large concerts—even outdoors–are still not a reality for music fans in the United States, Dead & Company appears to be wagering that come January 2022 enough Americans will be vaccinated to the point that large events will be allowed and international travel will go on unrestricted.
