Dead & Company has revealed the artists who will join them for the final Playing In The Sand destination event January 14th–17th, 2023. The music festival vacation will see additional performances from GooseLP Giobbi, and MORE! featuring Tom Hamilton, Jim Hamilton, Tom McKee, Joe D’Amico, and Scotty Zwang at Moon Palace Cancún.

Two sets from Goose, a performance by Deadhead house DJ LP Giobbi, and a rare appearance MORE! will round out the lineup for Playing In The Sand 2023. Giobbi, MORE!, and Tom Hamilton (acoustic) will also perform poolside and late-night sets during the event.

The special guests all have existing Dead & Company connections. Goose’s late-night shows (and surprise main stage takeover) at the event in 2020 helped catapult the rising Connecticut then-quartet to fame with an older, more seasoned Dead crowd just before the pandemic took hold. LP Giobbi has been making a name for herself lately with Grateful Dead-centric “Dead House” sets as well as high-profile appearances at festivals like Electric Daisy CarnivalFirefly, and more. She was due to perform at the canceled 2022 edition of Playing In The Sand.

Tom Hamilton’s credits in the Dead community are well documented, with the singer-guitarist serving as a driving force in Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. He also came close to “Playing in the Band” himself earlier this year; when John Mayer tested positive for COVID ahead of Playing In The Sand 2022, Hamilton was tapped to fill in before the event was scrapped entirely.

Playing In The Sand will arrive ahead of Dead & Company’s Final Tour, set to begin on May 19th and 20th with a two-night run at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. For tickets and a full list of dates visit the band’s website. To join the waitlist for the sold-out Playing In The Sand head here.
