Dead & Company will head south for their final Playing In The Sand destination event in January 2023, and those who aren’t going to the concerts can tune in via livestreams from nugs.net. In addition to three Dead & Company concerts, fans who purchase a four-show bundle will also receive access to Goose‘s January 15th show.

While hotel packages and tickets had allegedly been sold out for months, Goose on Wednesday announced a ticket lottery to allow its fans to get in on the fun in the sun. The band stated it has a “very limited number of event packages,” with the all-inclusive bundles available only via lottery. Fans can sign up now through Monday at 11:59 p.m. ET, with winners notified the following day.

Dead & Company will stick their toes in the sand in Riviera Cancún, Mexico one more time on January 14th, 16th, and 17th. In addition to a two-set performance from Goose on January 15th, Playing In The Sand 2023 will also feature sets from LP Giobbi, and MORE! featuring Tom Hamilton, Jim Hamilton, Tom McKee, Joe D’Amico, and Scotty Zwang at Moon Palace Cancún, however, nugs will not stream those sets.

This next edition of Playing In The Sand will mark the first since 2020. Last year, the band came perilously close to staging the destination event—with many fans already checked into their rooms—before ultimately pulling the plug due to COVID. Prior to its cancellation, both Bill Kreutzmann and John Mayer were due to sit out the concerts, with the latter to be replaced by Tom Hamilton.
