Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio has announced plans for a new album, Cold As Weiss, and released the lead single, “Pull Your Pants Up”. The third album from the instrumental trio led by organist Delvon Lamarr is out on February 11th via Colemine Records.

From its very announcement, DLO3’s new album is a bevy of inside jokes from a band that communicates non-verbally. The album’s title serves as a baptism-by-fire for new drummer Dan Weiss, who will make his album debut on Cold As Weiss. As for the lead single, “Pull Your Pants Up”, it’s a shot at guitarist Jimmy James.

“On every DLO3 tour, at some point, we have to tell Jimmy James to pull his pants up,” Lamarr said in a press release. “After being blinded by his backside over and over and over again, we decided to write a song about it!”

All jokes aside, Cold As Weiss promises to serve as an extension of the vintage Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio sound delivered on the band’s 2021 LP, I Told You So. Splicing the DNA of old-school funk forefathers The Meters with the acid rock stylings of Jimi Hendrix along with the jazz explorations of Jimmy Smith, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio delivers a concoction both new and familiar.
