Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls, better known as comedian/actor Harry Shearer, has announced a 2019 west coast fall run of shows. For the unusual shows, Smalls will be joined by a star-studded lineup featuring musicians performing live in person and others live on satellite.

Smalls will perform live with guitarists Steve Luthaker (Toto), Dweezil Zappa, and Waddy Wachtel at each performance during the brief run of shows. Additionally, Derek will be joined live by Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen, the Snarky Puppy Horns, singer/comedian/actress Jane Lynch, guitarist Steve Vai, and the Hungarian Studio Orchestra via satellite. Additional guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Derek Smalls’ 2019 fall tour begins with a performance at Los Angeles, CA’s Wiltern on November 6th. From there the band will make stops at Seattle, WA’s Moore Theatre (11/9); Vancouver, BC’s Vogue Theater (11/11); and San Francisco’s Warfield (11/14). Fans can expect a 2020 world tour announcement in the coming months.

“Playing live with a symphony orchestra and some of the greats in rock music was never anything I could even hope to dream of. But I can now!” Smalls explained in a statement.
