Grand Rapids, MI-based rock quintet Desmond Jones has released Why Not?, its latest studio album. The fifteen-track effort presents an eclectic cross-section of the group’s diverse sound, which pulls from prog rock and funk as much as it does bluegrass and jazz.

Each of the tracks on the quasi-concept album highlights a different motif within the story of a weary outlaw. The result is an engaging homage to classic Americana that never loses its carefree, rock n’ roll edge.

Desmond Jones—comprised of Chris Bota (guitar, vocals), Isaac Berkowitz (guitar, drums, vocals), George Falk (saxophone, vocals), John Nowak (drums, guitar, vocals), and Taylor Watts (bass)—recorded the album with producer Kevin McKay at Inmuso Studios. The album was mixed by Andy Gauthier and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Glenn Brown (Billy Strings).
