A few weeks ago, founding Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts was forced to postpone three August tour dates due to health concerns. A press release on the guitarist’s website noted, Betts “had recently experienced what his doctors called a ‘mild stroke’” and was “strongly advised to give himself more time to recuperate.” The doctors assured Betts that he should be 100% recovered after three to five more weeks of recuperation.

Now, just three weeks later, Betts is “raring to go”, according to a new post on the Dickey Betts Band Facebook page. “His recovery from his minor stroke is ahead of schedule and he has already started playing his guitar again.” According to the update, “there will be a minimum of four shows in November including the makeup date for The Hampton Beach Casino. That show will now be November 9th, 2018.”

Joining Dickey Betts on the road for his remaining upcoming dates are his son, Duane Betts, and Damon Fowler on guitar, Pedro Arevalo on bass guitar, Frankie Lombardi and Steve Camilleri on drums, and Mike Kach on keyboards.
