The Disco Biscuits returned to the stage over the weekend with a pair of shows at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts – Front Yard in Orlando, FL. On Sunday, the livetronica pioneers shared a pro-shot video of “King of the World” into “Grass Is Green” taken from night one of the run on March 25th.

Being on stage again, in front of a crowd of people rather than cars, guitarist Jon “Barber” Gutwillig must have truly meant it when he yelled “I’m the king of the world” to kick off the track. A time-tested Biscuits original, the song has been in rotation since 2001 and served to foster the environment of a classic Biscuits show for those who made the trek down to Florida.

Though it came in as only the band’s third ticketed show of 2021, The Disco Biscuits proved they were primed and ready by steamrolling right into a rollicking dark jam that oscillated into jovial peaks courtesy of Barber. The thorough exploration of “King of the World” ultimately segued into an inverted “Grass Is Green”, which saw The Biscuits keep the same jam moving right on through. Another relic of the band’s early days—first debuted in 2000—”Grass Is Green” is a rare gem that has been played just over a dozen times in the past decade, per Phantasy Tour.
