The Disco Biscuits are set to hit the field at Citizens Bank Park tonight for the Take You Out To The Ball Game live stream. Ahead of this historic concert, the band stopped by The Fillmore in Philadelphia for a quick rehearsal.

The rehearsal, live streamed Monday night, marked the band’s first live performance together since January 4th at Chicago’s Riviera Theater. Since then, the group has sustained fans with free weekly live streams, couch tours, and Marc Brownstein‘s Live Lesson Masters, which connects fans with their favorite musicians for lessons and virtual hangs.

In a new installment of the Coke Studio Sessions, The Disco Biscuits used their rehearssal to perform an hour-long set live via their YouTube at The Fillmore. The seven-song set kicked off with a cover of Pink Floyd‘s “Run Like Hell”, which began a series of segues into “Orch Theme”, an unfinished “Rock Candy”, ultimately leading back to “Run Like Hell” to complete the circular movement. After that the band dusted off “Electric Slinky” and “Station” before transitioning into a show-closing “Safety Dance”, which ended the set on a light-hearted note with fans hungry for more. They will get their wish tonight, June 23rd, when the Biscuits hit the mound at Citizens Bank Park.

Even before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Disco Biscuits were already experiencing health issues of their own. Brownstein underwent emergency eye surgery for a detached retina following his appearance on Jam Cruise. This forced the band to postpone the four remaining shows of their winter/spring tour, their first full-fledged tour in years, to a later date. As the band’s next tour rolled around, dubbed Act 1, the pandemic took hold of the live event industry just prior to the band’s opening three-night run at the same venue they played last night to an empty audience.

Now, the band’s comeback catchphrase, “set break is over,” has found all-new meaning as they lace up their cleats and get ready to take the infield for Take You Out To The Ball Game. Tune into the show tonight at 7:45 p.m. ET on the band’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
