While touring the country in support of his latest ‘All Basses Covered’ tour, DJ Shadow has been greeted with sold out crowds and adoring fans, eager to see the legendary producer spin and DJ show off his highly sought after skills. Miami hot spot Mansion seemed to have other plans – less than a half hour into the DJ’s headlining set this weekend, a promoter whispered something into Shadow’s ear, prompting the DJ to cut the music and address the crowd.

Through videos posted online, it seems as if Shadow says “I have waited here a long time to play here for you all, but they say this shit’s too future for you all…I don’t know what to tell ya.” You can watch the video below.

Mansion recently went through a multi-million dollar renovation, and is more known for bottle service and mainstream EDM acts like Afrojack and Deadmau5 than more experimental and influential DJ’s that DJ Shadow. That being said, somebody had to have booked the man, so let the guy do what he does. You can’t just expect every DJ you hire to play ‘Levels’. Do some research.

UPDATE (12/21/12): Mansion has issued the following apology to DJ Shadow and his fans,

“We offer our most sincere apologies to DJ Shadow and his fans for his set being cut short at Mansion this past weekend. This error should not have happened and will not happen again, especially as we pride ourselves on creating an environment that cultivates and respects innovators such as DJ Shadow. We have learned a lot from this error and made changes within our organization to ensure that Mansion’s vision, and the vision of our guests, will never be compromised again.” -Mansion Nightclub, Miami
