Denver, Colorado-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter DJ Williams has released “Black Man”, the lead single from his forthcoming debut solo album, Soldier of Love, due out on June 29th 2023 via Perception Records. The soul-stirring blues-rock stomp, which features contributions from vocalist Kanika Moore (Doom Flamingo) and pedal steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier (Trouble No More, Jelly Roll), explores the complicated, conflicting layers of the Black male existence in America.

Well known for his raw talent on six strings and captivating presence on stage, DJ Williams wastes no time making a statement on his first official single under his own name. “Black Man” surges forth with a resounding blend of distorted guitar riffs and thunderous drums alongside harmonized layers of Moore’s supporting vocals and a searing guitar solo performed by by Collier, a three-time Grammy Award nominee. Williams’ artistry shines through as he navigates the depths of his own emotions, expressing the complexities of a life marked by both resilience and struggle with a steely, unwavering resolve.
