Early last month, popular brewery Dogfish Head announced their plans to revive their 2013 IPA inspired by the Grateful Dead to be released in lot-friendly six-pack of 12 oz. bottles for the first time ever. The American Beauty Pale Ale obviously pulls its name in relation to the famous jam band’s career-defining 1970 studio album. On Thursday, the brewery turned the party up a notch, as they announced their plans to celebrate the beer’s return with a full weekend themed around the forthcoming IPA and the Dead themselves.

The “American Beauty Weekend,” as the celebration has been officially branded, will take place at their Brewery headquarters in Milton, Delaware on Friday, February 8th and Saturday, February 9th. The weekend events will include a “Grateful Dead-inspired Beer Experience” as well as Grain-to-Glass brewery tours themed around the band’s music. One of the real highlights of the weekend will include the presence of the Dead’s current archivist, David Lemieux.

Lemieux–who is just as avid of an outdoorsman as he is a Deadhead–will plan on spending the entire day at the party on Friday, starting with a meet-and-greet/signing in the Tasting Room & Kitchen, and fans are encouraged to bring their favorite lot merch and tie-dye shirts for David to sign. Lemieux will then head over to the Dogfish Head’s brewpub in Rehoboth, Delaware later that night to take part in the American Beauty Beer Experience, where he will hang out, share stories, and answer questions while attendees enjoy some dinner. There will also be live music from the Dead catalogue being played by High Tied Sideshow.

Fans and beer lovers can also tune into the older promotional video of Lemieux below, where he’s seen discussing the American Beauty-themed IPA when it first arrived back in 2013.
