[11/22/22]: Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton will team up on December 31st to host Miley’s New Year’s Party live from Miami, FL. The special New Year’s presentation is set to air on NBC at 10:30 ET and streaming on Peacock TV.

The announcement came in the form of a video showing the two music icons sipping champagne at a white-cloth table. “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party is about getting glamorous and dressing your best,” Miley says, to which Dolly replies, “Well we do that everyday, don’t we Miley?”

“You taught me well,” Miley jokes in response.

The announcement did not mention whether the two musicians would perform during the program, nor did it name any special guests, though the likelihood is high for both.

The news follows an announcement that CNN plans to restrict its anchors and correspondents from drinking alcohol on air after hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper received media attention for partying hard during their 2021 NYE broadcast. Apparently the two hosts will still be allowed to partake, but correspondents and anchors will be required to stay sober.

Tune in to Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party featuring Dolly Parton at 10:30pm ET on December 31st on NBC and Peacock TV.

The New Year’s Eve announcement also comes after news that Dolly Parton received the Courage and Civility Award from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The award recognizes those who have “demonstrated courage” and tried to be a unifier in a divisive world. It includes a grant of $100M that Dolly will be free to donate to charity as she sees fit.
