Dopapod wrapped a two-night run at Ardmore Music Hall in Pennsylvania on Friday, where the band welcomed Dave Peck (aka mk devo) to the stage for Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Around The World”. The celebrated videographer revisited his moment in the spotlight on Friday with a pro-shot video of the sit-in.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers cover came as the first of a double encore, followed by “23 Forever”, which featured a Metallica “Enter Sandman” jam. Dopapod debuted the cover back on October 30th as part of the band’s Woodstocks-themed four-night run of shows in Columbus, OH and Grand Rapids, MI. Dopapod has retained a number of covers from those Halloween shows, several of which were on display on Friday in Ardmore, including DMX‘s “Ruff Ryders Anthem”, which was teased in “Bats In The Cave”, in addition to the “Enter Sandman” jam.

The man behind the camera born Dave Peck but better known on YouTube as mk devo got his moment in the sun, taking centerstage while bassist Chuck Jones offered an extra-fuzzy intro. The stage belonged to Peck, however, as he went full Anthony Kiedis for the Californication track. The Ardmore crowd was receptive to the line, “‘Cause I’m down for the state of Pennsylvania,” as Dave delivered a flawless telling of the lyrics, all the way down to the “ding ding, dong dong” part. Peck’s captivating performance was no struck of luck, either. The videographer also fronts a Chili Peppers cover band, Good Time Boys, with Tim Palmieri (Lotus), Adrian Tramontano (Kung Fu), and Ron Spears (formerly of The Breakfast).

Watch Dave Peck (mk devo) join Dopapod for RHCP’s “Around The World” at Ardmore Music Hall on Friday. The band’s tour continues tonight, December 12th, at The Broadberry in Richmond, VA. For tickets and a full list of tour dates click here.
