After days of speculation following a teaser announcement earlier this week, Dopapod has officially announced their return! The band will officially reunite on the historic stage of Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre on Saturday, April 27th, 2019.

“We’re all incredibly excited to bring the band back together to usher in the next chapter of Dopapod,” keyboardist Eli Winderman shares in a press release about the end of the band’shiatus. “We’ve been blown away by the amount of speculation on our return and just the overall love and support surrounding the band.”

“There is so much history at The Cap and it’s truly an honor to be a part of that,” continues Winderman. “We’re looking forward to doing our thing there and it just felt like the perfect venue to bring the band back.” So far, the show at The Capitol Theatre is the band’s only planned performance.

Comprised of guitarist Rob Compa, drummer Neal “Fro” Evans, bassist Chuck Jones, and keyboardist Eli Winderman, Dopapod has a deep history dating back to 2007, with over 1,000 live shows under their belts.

The members of Dopapod and their crew have kept busy in their time “off” as a band. Lighting and Sound Designer, Luke Stratton, has been with the Smashing Pumpkins on a tour throughout the U.S. and Europe. Rob Compa wrote and recorded his first solo album, and has been performing alongside different bands including Barika, which features Craig Myers (Mike Gordon Band), and more. Eli Winderman has been working with Jesse Miller (Lotus) on their band, Octave Cat, and started a weekly funk show in Philadelphia, Funk n’ Bowl. Chuck Jones and Neal “Fro” Evans recorded a new album as Mom and Dad, touring it across the country.

“This last year was much needed for all of us,” continues Winderman. “We all were able to explore other musical avenues in our lives and it really helped inspire everyone.”
