Dopapod will look a little different for the band’s upcoming four-night run of Northeastern concerts. The genre-bending foursome announced on Thursday that keyboardist Eli Winderman tested positive for COVID and will miss the remaining shows on the band’s Northeast leg of the tour. Instead, Dopapod will stage two shows as a trio and two more with multi-instrumentalist Craig Broadhead (formerly of Turkuaz).

In an Instagram post, Dopapod stated that the band’s show tonight, February 3rd at Anthology in Rochester, NY and tomorrow, February 4th at Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA will only feature guitarist Rob Compa, drummer Neal “Fro” Evans, and bassist Chuck Jones. For the group’s final Northeastern concerts, Broadhead will join in at Higher Ground in South Burlington, VT on the 5th and Fete Music Hall in Providence, RI on the 6th. Dopapod also wrote that “You can rest assured that the fine folks of Eggy will be joining in on the fun every night.”

“Our favorite thing to do is improvise, and part of that is rolling with change,” the band wrote on Instagram. “These shows are guaranteed to be some of the most unique and interesting Dopapod performances we may ever have, so please join us.”

Winderman addressed the lineup change in a separate post, writing,

This is my first time having covid and it’s definitely no joke! I wish so bad that I could play these shows but it’s just not in the cards. …The past couple tours have been a dream come true and I’m so grateful for all the support. It truly does feel like Dopapod is firing on all cylinders and evolving into something special.

Visit Dopapod’s website for tickets to the upcoming “Trio-Pod” and “Dopa-Craig” concerts. Following the Northeast run, Dopapod will reconvene for a four-night run of shows across Colorado from March 2nd–5th.
