The Capitol Theater recreates history this February with a tribute to the Grateful Dead. On February 16th GD archivist David Lemieux, who is also a Grateful Dead legacy manager, will be spinning recordings of the February 24th, 1971 Grateful Dead show as played at the Capitol Theater. A full light set up and show will accompany the concert quality sounds of the dead, creating the first ever A Dose of the Dead. The venue was home to numerous Grateful Dead shows and a well-known favorite venue of the band.

The Grateful Dead’s 2/24/1971 show was the last performance of a six night run, and featured a variety of originals and covers, ending with 20 minute set encores. The set list for the 2/24/1971 show is listed below. A Dose of the Dead will continue on after the 2/24/1971 set is played in its entirety, as the Capitol Theater will be playing unreleased Grateful Dead recordings all night long, as provided by archivist Lemieux.

The Capitol Theater, located in Port Chester, NY, will be hosting this 18 and over event at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased here, in advance for $8 and $10 Day of Show.
