As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout inspires hope across the country for concerts this summer, Driftless Music Gardens has announced the Drive-In Tailgate Concert Series. The three-night run of drive-in concerts over Memorial Day weekend in Hillsboro, WI will see performances by Leftover SalmonHorseshoes & Hand Grenades, and The Infamous Stringdusters.

In a first-of-its-kind event, organizers are attempting to execute what they call a “Micro Fest” of drive-in tailgate shows. Each concert will see fans pull their vehicles into the Gardens’ natural amphitheater and enjoy the show from a 15–20-foot tailgating area.

The three-night run of concerts will begin on May 28th with Leftover Salmon, continue with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades on the 29th, and wrap up with The Infamous Stringdusters on the 30th. Tickets for each concert are sold separately and those who purchase tickets to all three concerts will be eligible for extremely-limited onsite camping. For all other fans, Driftless Music Gardens has provided an extensive list of nearby, offsite accommodations.

While the drive-in concert format achieved widespread popularity over the summer and into the fall of 2020, this is a new experiment to string a number of shows by different artists together into a multi-day event. The inclusion of onsite camping further emulates the feeling of an actual festival, though in a safe and socially-distant format.

Tickets will be sold by the vehicle and will allow four fans per ticket with the venue operating at a limited capacity. Masks are required in all common areas including merchandise, concessions, restrooms, and in transit to those locations. Attendees will be required to practice social distancing and proper handwashing. A full list of rules is available on DMG’s website.

Tickets for all three nights of the Drive-In Tailgate Concert Series at Driftless Music Gardens in Hillsboro, WI over Memorial Day Weekend are on sale now.
