Dumpstaphunk has shared a brand new recording of their original single “Justice 2020” as remixed by Cut Chemist.

The song which also features guest appearances from Chali 2na and Trombone Shorty was first released by Dumpstaphunk as a single in October, and will appear on the funk-rock outfit’s forthcoming studio album, Where Do We Go From Here, due out April 23rd via Mascot Label Group/The Funk Garage.

“Justice 2020” is a modernized spin on Dumpstaphunk’s 2017 single, “Justice”, which was first released shortly after the 2016 presidential election. “Justice 2020” combines a hard-hitting funk groove with deep lyricism influenced by the current world events over the past year.

“We wrote Justice at a time when a lot of things were going on,” Dumpstaphunk pianist Ivan Neville said with the song’s release last year. “Myself, Nick [Daniels] and Tony [Hall] were kids during the Sixties and Seventies, so we saw a lot of shit growing up, and we see the same stuff still going on: the systemic racism, the racial profiling, all the social injustice. We’re at a crossroads right now in this country, and some shit’s got to change.”
