An all-star cast of performers will pay tribute to Bruce Springsteen on February 8th when he’s awarded the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year in Los Angeles for artistic achievement and dedication to philanthropy. Jon Stewart will host the star studded event which includes performances by past collaborators Eddie Vedder and Neil Young. Other artists scheduled to perform the event include Elton John, Mumford and Sons, Sting, Jim James, Tom Morello, John Legend, Kenny Chesney, Patti Smith, Alabama Shakes, Emmylou Harris, and Natalie Maines.
The Recording Academy, also known for hosting the Grammy’s, will will broadcast the event on CBS the event with proceeds going to the MusiCares Foundation. According to Rollingstone.com, the foundation is known for providing emergency financial support for musicians, educational workshops, healthcare programs and more. Past recipients include David Crosby, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Gloria Estefan, Tony Bennet, Quincy Jones, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Bono, James Taylor, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Don Henley, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, and Barbara Streisand.
