As David Letterman prepares to hand over the reigns of his Late Show to Stephen Colbert next Wednesday, May 20th, tons of fantastic artists and celebrities have been appearing on his show. The final musical performance has now been officially been announced: Eddie Vedder with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.

Vedder will appear on the show next Monday, with Tom Hanks making his 60th Late Show appearance on the same program. Vedder has performed on the show countless times over the years, including appearances with Pearl Jam, The Who, and the CBS Orchestra.

If Dave Matthews and Ryan Adams‘ recent appearances are any indication, Vedder will most likely revive his performance of “Black” with the CBS Orchestra, which was performed as a surprise for Letterman in 1996. Letterman had been singing the chorus of “Black” in his regular routine, and Vedder finally appeared on the show (for his first time) to sing his the song with the orchestra. You can watch that performance below:

Letterman’s final episode will be next Wednesday, May 20th. A description only states that the show will be “an hour filled with surprises.” Bill Murray will also be appearing on the program next Tuesday, May 19th. Murray was actually Letterman’s first guest as the host of the Late Show, so this will be a “full circle” of sorts.
