On Monday, decorated British singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jeff Lynne announced that multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Dhani Harrison will join his North American Electric Light Orchestra summer tour as the opening act on all 20 dates. The upcoming tour comes on the heels of Lynne’s first North American tour since 1981, the better part of four decades ago.
Harrison released his debut solo album In///Parallel in 2017 and most recently scored HBO’s four-part documentary series “The Case Against Adnan Syed”, which premiered March 10th.
The tour begins July 20th, 2019, at Anaheim, CA’s Honda Center, before making stops in Sacremento, San Jose, Vancouver, Tacoma, and Portland, June 22nd-29th. The tour will then head south to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on July 3rd, before making stops in Atlanta, Tampa, Sunrise, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Newark, July 5th-16th. After hitting Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on July 18th, the band will wrap up their 20-date tour with Midwest performances in Detroit, Grand Rapids, St. Paul, Chicago, Columbus, and Pittsburgh, July 20th-August 1st.
Known as one of the most iconic forces in music history, Jeff Lynne’s ELO has spent the last two years with a critically acclaimed and chart-topping album, a sold-out run of U.K. and European shows, as well as a 2017 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
