The Funk Sessions just keep getting funkier… Live For Live Music’s monthly residency at Cervantes’ in Denver is set to go off on Friday, November 22nd with a massive lineup. This time around, the Emerald Quintet featuring drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic), saxophonist Skerik, guitarist Scott Metzger (JRAD), keyboardist Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars/20th Congress/Mike Gordon), and bassist Andy Hess (John Scofield Band) will deliver what is sure to be a memorable performance at The Other Side (purchase tickets here). Michelle Sarah will open up the evening’s musical endeavors.

Earlier this year, both Moore and Skerik decided to revive their collaboration from the late ’90s on the former’s solo debut album, All Kooked Out!, which got the live treatment in New Orleans during Jazz Fest. In honor of the collaboration’s 20th anniversary, the two musicians decided to team up with Metzger, Walter, and Hess to bring the project to the Crescent City during Jazz Fest. The group also played a set at this past summer’s High Sierra Music Festival. It’s clear they are all digging the collaboration and will continue with a few shows in the Fall, with a short mini-run in November scheduled to go along with their Funk Sessions throwdown.

Tickets for Emerald Quintet are currently on sale and can be purchased here. For event updates and additional information, join the Facebook Event page here.
