Calm and ready, Eminem has dropped 400 containers of “Mom’s Spaghetti” on two hospitals in Detroit, MI this week.

The Henry Ford Hospital posted a picture of the meals to its Instagram page on Wednesday. On the sides of each bottle sat a sticker reading, “Thank you frontline caregivers,” along with Shady Records branding and an image of a “Mom” heart tattoo with a fork.

“Our #HealthcareHeroes “lost themselves” in the delicious Mom’s Spaghetti donated by Detroit’s very own, [Eminem]. Thank you for providing a special meal for our team members,” the hospital wrote on Instagram.

Furthermore, healthcare workers at Detroit Receiving Hospital also enjoyed the meal made possible by Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation. Michigan and, more specifically, Detroit, have dealt with a growing number of COVID-19 cases as the pandemic spreads across the United States. The meals provided a bit of temporary relief as healthcare workers across the city and state deal with increased hours and workload.

Of course, the move is a nearly two-decades-old reference to 2002 and Em’s Oscar-winning 8 Mile song, “Lose Yourself”, which famously invokes the meal during the opening lines: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy/ There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” While the song climbed up the Apple Music charts earlier this year after a surprise performance by Eminem at the 2020 Grammy Awards, it’s not the first time he has donated Mom’s Spaghetti.

Back in 2017, in partnership with Union Joints in Clarkston, MI, Eminem served Mom’s Spaghetti at the Shelter basement club while promoting his Revival album, and again at festival stops in 2018.
