After a five-year hiatus, Eric Clapton‘s Crossroads Guitar Festival returned on Friday with the first of two full nights worth of all-star performances and special guest sit-ins at Dallas, TX’s American Airlines Center.
Night one on Friday saw Clapton, who headlines both days of the festival, welcome a mix of performances and appearances throughout the evening from Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Vaughan, Bill Murray, The Marcus King Band, Billy Gibbons, James Bay, Gustavo Santaolalla, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Depp, Gary Clark Jr. and many more.
Some of the highlights from night one included Clapton sitting in with Frampton during the latter’s three-song set as the two guitarists tore their way through a cover of The Beatles‘ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.
