Eric Gales Previews Forthcoming Album With Lead Single, "I Want My Crown", Ft. Joe Bonamassa [Watch]

Eric Gales has announced his forthcoming album, Crown, due out on January 28th via Provogue Records/Mascot Label Group. Produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith, Crown will find Gales opening up like never before, sharing his struggles with substance abuse, a new era of sobriety and creativity, and his personal reflections on racism.

Along with today’s album announcement, Gales has shared the lead single and music video for “I Want My Crown”, which features Bonamassa on guitar. “I Want My Crown” hears Gales sing about his past self-sabotage while proving that he’s ready for the limelight and the “crown” that comes from being at the forefront of modern blues music. Full of confidence that can only come from years of self-reflection and perfecting one’s craft, the single’s music video sees Gales preparing for a Rocky-style guitar battle with his longtime friend, Bonamassa, in the Home of the Blues, Memphis, TN.

Replete with an energetic horn section and tasteful backing vocals, “I Want My Crown” arrives with all the swagger of a well-prepared musician who’s ready for a fight. After singing the song’s refrain, “It’s my turn/ I want my crown,” Gales steps into a boxing ring where he and Bonamassa go toe-to-toe. The two proceed to trade licks back and forth before Bonamassa falls to a ten-count and Gales raises his fist in victory.

Gales is currently on the road for his 2021 fall/winter tour. He will tour up and down the East Coast, as well as shows in the Midwest, throughout October and November.
