On Friday night, Expedia, the presenting travel partner of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, hosted its Global Jam event celebrating the power of global movement and the soul of New Orleans at the Joy Theater.
The all-star showcase featured performances by Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, DJ Pee Wee, Tank and the Bangas, Bomba Estéreo, Mardi Gras Indians, and more, with various collaborations and crossovers throughout the night. Additional performers at the event included Alex Robinson, Andrew Bui, Anna Vu, Antoine Barriere, Ashley Jonique, Big Freedia, Brandan (Bmike), Caitlin Orellana, Caitlin Minshew, Calley Blue, Carla Pesono, Cesar Ruiz, Cha Wa, Chanen Johnson, Chasity Pugh, Christy Galatas, Crystal Suggs, Evelyn Bories, Gianna Margin, Jade Hall, Jasmine Yvette, Joey Cirilo, Johnathan Abram, Jon Batiste, Junior Nyong’o, Karen Phan, Karrueche Tran, Kortlynn Jenae, Laura Steffan, Laura Robinson, Laura Walter, Leah Rachel Grimes, Luke James, Lynn Wesley, Ma’ya E. With complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres flowing throughout the theater, an extended stage buildout, and festive yellow parasols floating over the storied Joy stage, the Expedia Global Jam’s loaded lineup of multi-disciplinary music masters delivered several hours of standout performances, creative collaboration, and festive revelry.
