A long list of stellar guitarists and other notable musicians will come together to celebrate the music and legacy of the late Jimi Hendrix on the 2025 edition of the long-running Experience Hendrix Tour. Presented by Experience Hendrix, L.L.C.—the company started by Jimi’s father, James “Al” Hendrix, to oversee his famous son’s legacy—alongside manufacturers Fender and Marshall, the 27-date tour will make its way to theaters around the country between March and April [get tickets].
This time around, the all-star tribute tour will feature performances by Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Marcus King, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Zakk Wylde (from Black Label Society / Ozzy Osbourne), Eric Johnson, Devon Allman, Samantha Fish, Chris Layton (from Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), Noah Hunt (from Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band), Mato Nanji (from Indigenous), Ally Venable, Kevin McCormick (from Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band), Calvin Cooke (from The Slide Brothers), Chuck Campbell (from The Slide Brothers), Henri Brown, Dylan Triplett, Mathias Lattin, and Artur Menezes, plus special guests to be announced.
The Hendrix family’s first full sponsored tribute concert was born as the headlining attraction at Seattle’s annual Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival in September 1995. From its early beginnings as the Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Festival, the wheels were set in motion for the Experience Hendrix concert concept to become something much bigger than just a single event.
Over the ensuing years since the original Bumbershoot event, Experience Hendrix has hosted one additional Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Festival (1998); seven one-night-only, all-star tribute concerts in various cities throughout the United States and London; two installments of the nationwide traveling Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition; a four-year running engagement of the traveling Jimi Hendrix Red House Tour; and various all-star tribute concert tours under the expanded banner of the Experience Hendrix Tour, the most recent of which took place in the fall of 2024.
The spring 2025 Experience Hendrix Tour will kick off on March 11th in Cincinnati, OH and make its way around the Northeast, Midwest, and Southeast before wrapping up on April 12th at Atlanta, GA’s Fox Theatre.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Experience Hendrix Tour again,” said Kenny Wayne Shepherd, an Experience Hendrix Tour veteran, in a press release. “This tour always offers fans a unique opportunity to see artists from multiple genres of music all honoring the great Jimi Hendrix. The diversity of the artists that take part every year only goes to show the vast reach of Jimi Hendrix’s influence.”
