Fans will get the opportunity to relieve the Grateful Dead‘s Fare Thee Well shows from 2015 at Soldier Field during a free stream on July 5th. Members of the band took to social media to announce the Fans stream, set for the day after Independence Day.
The day-long stream will include all three of the band’s performances at the Chicago stadium, which took place July 3rd–5th, 2015. Those shows saw the Dead’s “Core Four” (Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart) come together for the last time, joined by Trey Anastasio (Phish), Jeff Chimenti, and Bruce Horsnby.
The free stream will begin on Sunday, July 5th at noon ET and run until midnight. The three-day run of concerts was captured on film by director Justin Kreutzmann and released as a concert DVD as well as a live album. The stream will also serve as a fundraiser for HeadCount, which encourages grassroots political action through the live concert industry.
