Atlanta-based, genre-blending cool kid Faye Webster has just announced a new tour and album, I Know I’m Funny haha that will be released on June 25th. Her East Coast tour this upcoming fall includes stops at indie hotspots such as Music Hall of Williamsburg, Philadelphia’s The Foundry, Mercy Lounge in Nashville, and more.

In anticipation of the summer release, Webster has also dropped a brand music video for her latest single “Cheers”. The song is sonically grittier than what we’ve heard from her—boasting slightly distorted electric guitar for example, as opposed to the signature pedal steel.

“This song has always felt like a standout from the record to me. It was the kind of song where you’re like ‘oh yeah, this is the one,’” Webster said of “Cheers” in a statement. “Right after the first take. It felt different to me and it made it feel like I was entering a new era and chapter for myself. It’s kind of the outlier on the record but at the same time is still so original and identifying to myself. Also it just makes me feel like a badass for once.”

I Know I’m Funny haha follows her 2019 debut release Atlanta Millionaires Club. The ten-track collection blends Americana, R&B, folk, and hip-hop for a sound that drops jaws when you realize she was only 19 when it came out. The lead single, “Kingston” has already surpassed 25 million streams on Spotify.

In the last two years, Webster has quickly been making a name for herself. She toured in summer 2019, landed on Pitchfork’s “Top 50 Albums of 2019”, played festivals like Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, fell in love, and found herself on Barack Obama’s 2020 year-end playlist.

With authentic songwriting, a slight Southern twang, keys, and bass straight out of a D’Angelo album, and yo-yo tricks for days, Webster is carving out an artistry solely her own, and we can’t wait to hear what the sophomore effort has to store.
