It’s been many long years since Flight of the Conchords have graced us with their folk comedy stylings. The duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie found great success with their hit HBO series, but only produced two seasons before moving on to other projects.

In a new interview with Consequence of Sound, Clement spoke about the possibility of a Conchords tour, saying “We were planning on doing it this summer, but then I ended up doing The BFG instead. So it’s my fault we didn’t do it this time. But we are hoping to announce a tour. We’ll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road … after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing.”

The BFG is a film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic of the same title, slated for a July 1, 2016 release.

Another interview suggests that the Conchords may actually be writing a movie, though it’s in the very early stages. In Indiewire, Clement said “We have actually started writing one… Who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, ‘The film is going to be like this,’ it could be this, this, this, this, this.”

Lots of exciting news from Flight of the Conchords. Is it business time yet?
